Prerequisites
he PADI TEC 40 Diver Course prerequisites:
- Must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver ( PADI Rescue Diver is recommended)
- Must be a PADI Enriched Air Diver
- Must be a PADI Deep Diver or proof of 10 dives to 30 meters/ 100 feet or deeper
- Must have 30 logged dives
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Course Medical Requirements:
Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require a physician sign off, for technical diving you will require a physician sign off within the last 12 months, before any in water activities can take place.
Avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course. Instructors, divemasters and dive shop staff are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.

Step 1 – Pre Study – PADI eLearning
PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology whenever, wherever it’s convenient for you.
- eLearning time commitment: 4-6 hours
Step 2 – At The Dive Centre With Your Instructor
During four dives with a PADI Instructor, you’ll practice setting up equipment, buoyancy and team diving procedures. Through hands-on exercises, you’ll learn how to plan decompression dives, and how to deal with underwater emergencies.
- Total time commitment: 2 days (dives must be completed over a minimum of two days)

Tec 40 Trimix (Upgrade)
Curious about the benefits of using Trimix gas, like decreased gas density and reduced narcosis? Tec 40 divers can also learn to use trimix with not less than 21 percent oxygen and not more than 35 percent helium. Contact us to find what additional requirements you may need to complete the Tec 40 Trimix option.

Whether you are BSAC, SSI, CMAS or any other dive agency qualified, you can crossover to PADI and make yourself a more marketable commodity around the world. We have experience of working with numerous other agencys’ candidates and can help you navigate the PADI system until you are super comfortable teaching PADI courses.
Contact our knowledgable team who will be able to advise you at what level your need to begin your PADI training. Most existing Divemasters / Dive Leaders can enrol directly onto an IDC, and if you are already an Instructor elsewhere you probably only need to do the OWSI section of an IDC and then attend an IE.
